Foreign professional qualifications in Israel: find the right authority

Academic credentials, professional registration and permission to work are different questions in a relocation plan.

Identify whether the profession is regulated

The government publishes profession-specific information about regulated professions. Start with the exact occupation and the responsible authority rather than assuming every foreign diploma has the same recognition process. Information aimed at immigrants may provide useful contacts, but the employee’s status and eligibility for that route must be checked separately.

Separate the different approvals

A qualification can support an application without being the final permission to practice. Distinguish academic recognition, professional registration, equipment-specific authorization and immigration permission where relevant. Ask the responsible professional body what is required for the intended duties, not simply whether the person’s degree is authentic.

Prepare documents for the actual route

Organize qualifications, transcripts or experience records as requested, and verify translation and certification formats before commissioning them. Maintain a record of pending checks and decisions so the project manager does not assign regulated duties prematurely. Practical document coordination by FullSettleIL does not replace the professional authority’s decision.

Sources and verification

General information, not legal, immigration, tax or insurance advice. Verify current requirements with the responsible authority. Processes vary by case and municipality; Tel Aviv–Yafo sources are not nationwide rules.
