Changing an Arnona account holder after an employee moves
Treat the change of municipal account holder as its own task, with local instructions and proof of completion.

Use the municipality’s own process
Find the change-of-holder instructions for the city where the rental is located. Tel Aviv–Yafo publishes a specific process with documentation and conditions; other cities should be checked independently. Ask which route applies when the tenant is a foreign employee or the lease is signed by a company. Avoid copying a colleague’s document list without checking the current instructions.
Prepare the handover information
Organize the lease, applicant identification, property address, account references and the intended handover date, then compare them with the municipality’s required documents. This is a preparation list, not a claim that each item is sufficient for every application. Resolve mismatched names or dates before submission wherever possible.
Verify the update, not just the submission
Save the submission receipt and any response requesting more information. Keep the task open until you have confirmation of the account change or a clear explanation of the remaining step. At the end of the assignment, revisit the same process for the outgoing holder instead of assuming the new lease will automatically resolve the old account.
Practical checklist
- Check the local change-of-holder instructions
- Match names, address and dates
- Retain confirmation of the account change
Sources and verification
General information, not legal, immigration, tax or insurance advice. Verify current requirements with the responsible authority. Processes vary by case and municipality; Tel Aviv–Yafo sources are not nationwide rules.
